About Scrum Extensions
Scrum Extensions are documented practices that complement or extend Scrum in healthy ways. Scrum Extensions are context specific, because what works for one team may not be suitable for another.
For example, the Scrum Guide doesn't mention burndown charts, but many Scrum Teams have proven through demonstrated usage of Sprint Burndown charts that they are a very useful complimentary practice used by Scrum Teams. The use of Sprint Burndown charts, therefore, is a useful extension to Scrum.
Scrum Extensions are submitted software development community members. By publishing Scrum Extensions, contributors create a valuable community resource that Scrum Teams may use to improve their practice.
Scrum Extensions help practitioners learn from each other and provide ideas for improvement. A Scrum Team selects an Extension to try based on it being a good fit for their specific environment. No specific Extension is required to use Scrum successfully.
Like Scrum itself, Scrum Extensions are free and available for use by anyone.
